Nutritional status of the patients is one of the risk factors for surgical site infection (SSI). This study aims at investigating the relationship between the serum albumin level and pre-operative anemia with surgical site infection in patients with open tibial fracture.Methods: In a prospective study, 56 patients with open tibia fractures were studied in a teaching hospital in Mashhad-Iran. At the time of admission, serum albumin level, hemoglobin, and anthropometric values were measured. Surgical site infection during a one-year follow-up was recorded. The results were analyzed using statistical tests.Results: Nineteen patients (%33.9) were complicated by infection. The odd ration was 1.83 (p < /em>=.032) for anemia, 2.35 (p < /em>= .018) for hypoalbuminemia and 3.53 (p < /em>=.002) for type of open fracture.Conclusion: This study showed that SSI is a problem of great significance in orthopaedic tibia open fracture surgeries. It also showed that hypoalbuminemia and anemia before surgery resulted in a higher SSI occurrence in the patients.}, keywords = {Albumins,Anemia,Infection}, title_fa = {تاثیر آلبومین سرم و کم‌خونی در بروز عفونت محل جراحی در شکستگی‌های باز ساق}, abstract_fa = {پیش‌زمینه: عفونت محل جراحی جدی‌ترین عارضه در بیماران جراحی شده و دومین علت شایع عفونت‌های بیمارستانی در بیماران بستری می‌باشد. وضعیت تغذیه بیمار یکی از عوامل خطر عفونت محل جراحی می‌باشد. هدف این مطالعه بررسی ارتباط بین سطح آلبومین خون و کم‌خونی (آنمی) قبل از عمل با ایجاد عفونت محل جراحی در بیماران با شکستگی باز ساق می‌باشد.مواد و روش‌ها: در یک مطالعه آینده‌نگر، ۵۶ بیمار با شکستگی باز ساق در یک مرکز درمانی مشهد بررسی شدند. از بیماران در بدو پذیرش، آزمایش‌های پروتئین توتال، آلبومین و هموگلوبین خون و نیز اندازه‌گیری‌های آنتروپومتریک به‌عمل آمد. تمامی بیماران به مدت یک سال پس از عمل  پیگیری شدند و ابتلا به عفونت محل جراحی ثبت گردید. داده‌ها با استفاده از آزمون‌های آماری تحلیل شدند.یافته‌ها: در پیگیری های پس از عمل، ۱۹بیمار (۳۳/۹%) مبتلا به عفونت محل جراحی شدند. ضریب عوامل خطر سه متغیر کم خونی ۱/۸۳ (۰/۰۳۲=p < /em>)، هیپوآلبومینمی ۲/۳۵  (۰/۰۱۸=p < /em>) و نوع شکستگی ۳/۵۳  (۰/۰۰۲=p < /em>) به دست آمد و بین هر سه متغیر با بروز عفونت زخم محل جراحی در بیماران رابطه معنی‌داری وجود داشت.نتیجه‌گیری: در مطالعه حاضر متغیرهای هیپوآلبومینمی و کم‌خونی قبل از عمل باعث افزایش بروز عفونت محل جراحی در بیماران شد.}, keywords_fa = {آلبومین,کم‌خونی,عفونت}, url = {https://www.ijos.ir/article_121112.html}, eprint = {https://www.ijos.ir/article_121112_2282bc52d5b38801df718bbb0ea87931.pdf} }
