Sonography is also a noninvasive method for diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome. The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of sonography and electrodiagnostic studies in diagnosis of this syndrome. Methods: In a prospective study, 76 hands with diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome (study group) were compared with 80 hands (control group) in a training hospital in Kerman-Iran. In both groups the diameter of median nerve was measured by sonography and electrodiagnostic studies were performed only on the study group. The study group, post surgery, was followed up for 6 months and the DASH preoperative functional scoring was compared with post operative scores. Results: The difference between the diameters of the median nerve measured by sonography (p=.0001) and also the difference between before and after-operation Dash Score in the patient group (p=.001) were statistically significant. Sonography was 95% sensitive and 93% specific for the diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome. A weak correlation was found between the severity of the disease in electrodiagnostic studies and sonography (p < .01, r=.38). No correlation was proved between the sonographic or electrodiagnostic findings and Dash score before and after the operation (p≥.05). Conclusion: sonography might be a suitable module for the diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome, but there were no correlation between its findings or electrodiagnostic findings and functional scores. Whether or not sonography could be substitute for electerodiagnostic tests, will need further investigation.}, keywords = {carpal tunnel syndrome,Electrodiagnosis,Ultrasonography}, title_fa = {ارتباط سونوگرافی و بررسی الکترودیاگنوز در تشخیص و نتایج درمان سندروم کانال مچی}, abstract_fa = {پیش‌زمینه: تشخیص سندروم کانال مچی با معاینات بالینی و تایید تشخیص با یافته‌های الکترودیاگنوستیک انجام می‌شود. سونوگرافی نیز یک روش غیرتهاجمی برای تشخیص این بیماری می‌باشد. هدف از این تحقیق بررسی ارتباط سونوگرافی و مطالعات الکترودیاگنوز در تشخیص این سندروم بود. مواد و روش‌ها: در یک مطالعه آینده‌نگر ۷۶ دست کاندید عمل جراحی سندروم کانال مچی ایدیوپاتیک (گروه مطالعه) و ۸۰ دست سالم (گروه شاهد) در یک مرکز درمانی کرمان مقایسه شدند. سطح مقطع عصب با سونوگرافی مدیان تعیین و تست‌های الکترودیاگنوستیک و نمره «داش» (DASH) در گروه مطالعه قبل از عمل و 6 ماه پس از عمل انجام شد. در گروه شاهد نیز مقطع عصب با سونوگرافی تعیین گردید. ارتباط یافته‌های سونوگرافی با تست‌های الکترودیاگنوز و نمره «داش» در بیماران بررسی و با گروه شاهد مقایسه شدند. یافته‌ها: بین اندازه عصب مدیان در سونوگرافی در دو گروه (۰۰۰۱/۰=p)؛ و بین نمره «داش» در گروه بیمار قبل از جراحی و آخرین پیگیری (۰۰۱/۰=p) تفاوت معنی‌دار وجود داشت. سونوگرافی در تشخیص سندروم کانال مچی ۹۵% حساسیت داشت و ۹۳% اختصاصی بود. بین یافته‌های سونوگرافی و شدت بیماری در مطالعات الکترودیاگنوستیک همبستگی ضعیف وجود داشت (۰۱/۰=p و ۳۸/۰=r). بین سطح مقطع عصب و یا شدت بیماری در مطالعات الکترودیاگنوز با نمره «داش» قبل و بعد از عمل ارتباط معنی‌دار مشاهده نشد (۰۵/۰≤p ). نتیجه‌گیری: سونوگرافی وسیله تشخیصی مناسب در سندروم کانال مچی می‌باشد، ولی بین میزان سطح مقطع عصب و یافته‌های الکترودیاگنوز با نمره عملکرد رابطه‌ وجود ندارد. در این مورد که آیا سونوگرافی می‌تواند جایگزین مطالعات الکترودیاگنوز باشد، تحقیقات بیشتری لازم است.}, keywords_fa = {سندروم کانال مچی,الکترودیاگنوز,اولتراسونوگرافی}, url = {https://www.ijos.ir/article_121052.html}, eprint = {https://www.ijos.ir/article_121052_3096554901229388ca911f102da05b14.pdf} }
